Software Engineering Services

DS Scientific offers a number of software engineering support services to our customers. The software services offered by DS Scientific range from test automation to data analysis, in a variety of software languages such as Visual Basic, Labview, Matlab, C#, IDL, etc. We offer a comprehensive software package developed over a GUI interface. As an example of our capability we developed a black body flux calculator that calculates the photon flux for a range of black body wavelengths and at one black body temperature. The end user can choose from three basic optical formats and the F number for the optics. The data is then plotted for the end user and graphically displayed refer to figure 1. The engineer can also save the data for future use. In order to use the software the end user must have Microsoft Excel preloaded on their computer. A step by step instruction is provide in the summary work sheet of the excel software.

DS Scientific works very closely with our customer to define the specifications for the software requirements. Once the specifications are defined, we develop the GUI to wrap around the software specifications. We develop a library of applications which are called from the GUI to perform the specific functions required by our customers. All our applications and software development are locked in our data base for our customers.

Engineering and Scientific Datamining Software:

DS Scientific has developed an engineering data mining tool for DS Datamining to supplement the capability of scientist and engineers to gather data from several files and file types into a single excel work book.  The data mining software offers a variety of features to perform statistical analysis and graphing of the data during import.  The student version is good for 1 year and requires the license to be renewed, students do require to provide a proof of being in a credited university.  The individual version has no time restrictions.

The university and standard version have no restrictions.  However, the university version requires proof that the software is being purchased for an credited university.

The software is supplied in two separate versions, a student/individual version and a standard/University version.  The student and individual version is offered at a lower price with a few features disabled.  The disabled features are the saving/loading of configuration files, can’t perform simultaneous tabulation/analysis/graphing, and require closing the GUI to utilize excel file.  The student version is good for 1 year and requires the license to be renewed, students do require to provide a proof of being in a credited university.  The individual version has no time restrictions.

Imaging Software:

Also DS Scientific is developing an image acquisition, analysis, and reporting software package for the June/July time frame.  The software will provide engineers and scientists the capability to acquire images from camera electronics, perform photon transfer analysis (conversion gain, QE, Linearity, etc.), and generate a report.
